Welcome: My trip to New York City

Description: This webquest main purpose is to know some of the most interesting tourist spots in New York City. The idea of this webquest is make the students aware of the cultures, and history of New City. The student will learn how to use maps, and the various transportations available in this city. They will also become familiar with the well known attractions: The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, Ellis Island, Ground Zero and the Historical Lower Manhattan.

Introduction: Imagine that you are planning a first time trip to New York City. Being that your trip to New York City is only three days you must carefully plan to see specific attractions, but you do not want a guided tour, you want to experience and take advantage of the transportation available in the city. You only need some guidance in order to organize the trip. Let's start planning your three day visit to "the city that never sleeps".

TASK

Let's plan your trip!

You are excited about going to New York City for the first time. You will have to look for information about the city and the places that you will visit.

First you will have to go online to arrange your flight from Valencia or Alacant, Spain to New York City.
You will need to find a hotel to in for three days.
You will start organizing your tour. You will gather infomation about the city, and the attractions, and explain the characteristic details, and historical information.
Now that you have successfully arranged your flight, hotel and detailed plan for your visit, you will need pictures of each to demostrate in your presentation.
The final task is to prepare a demostration in powerpoint with all the pictures and information that you have gathered during your visit to New York City.

PROCESS

You will start your first visit from the hotel.

Now you will have to get information about the city and each attraction that you will visit.
After gathering all the important information and maps with directions,and photos, you are ready to prepare your power point presentation. Remember to be creative and original with your presentation. You can use videos, music, and comments in your presentation.You must present each part with clarity, a sequence of events ( you will not put the flight arrangements to New York In the middle of the presentation everything must be in a clear easy to follow sequence.)
Use appropriate language and terms, use a dictionary to help with correct spellings. Your use of the English language will be closely revised, so pay close attention to grammar, spelling and the use of descriptive words.

From each of the sites provided you will write down the most important information. You may copy pictures from these sites to your folder for the presentation.

You will write the most important details including: history, culture, and other tourist attractions, and anything that you find to be of interest.
