Every year our High School organizes a day school trip the day before Easter Holiday.
This School Year 2014-2015, the students of Practical English 2nd “Batxillerat” became Tour Guides for a day in a school trip around the town of Castelló de Rugat.
In different group works they planned carefully the excursion by making a project work in which they had to find out about the history and the most important places of interest in the town. They also marked on a map the route they were about to follow and one of the students who is very good at drawing and painting, drew the coat of arms of the town.
Once they gathered all the information, they designed and made a leaflet.
Each one of the students explained and talked about a landmark of the town in English while the other classmates were listening carefully to the explanation and asking whatever they wanted to know.
This is an activity which motivates students, encourages active learning, and develops key critical-thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
Students practise the four skills and use real material in a real situation.
It was a great experience!
